Huron Park Secondary School
2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we will continue to encourage presence, participation and voice from students, families and community partners of our increasingly diverse school population.
We are doing this to better understand the needs of all members of our school community which will inform our instructional, assessment and student support practices.
Key Actions or Strategies
- Encouraging family participation at our Grade 9 Welcome Night and Parent-Teacher Interviews.
- Developing Departmental strategies to address needs of those who are not currently represented in our success.
- Establishing connections with local businesses and agencies where all of our students can see themselves reflected.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about the various perspectives and lived experiences of others in their class.
- Try learning about cultures of your student's peer group at home with your child.
- Be willing to come to school and share your thoughts on how we can better support the needs of your student.
